This charm was created to commemorate the Flying Horses in Oak Bluffs, the oldest operating platform carousel in America. It was built in 1876 by Charles Dare and is one of the few Dare carousels still in existence. The carousel was brought to Martha’s Vineyard from Coney Island and is officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Interior as a National Historic Landmark.
