A favorite of sport fishermen and Vineyard chefs, “Stripers” are streamlined silver fish with dark stripes running the length of their body. They are plentiful on the Vineyard during the Island’s popular fishing derby. The derby, founded in 1946, runs from mid-September to mid-October, during the fall fish migration, and attracts anglers from around the world.
