Built in 1879 by John Hoyt, this historic treasure is at the center of the Methodist Campground, site of the famous gingerbread cottages in Oak Bluffs. A unique work of architecture, the Tabernacle features two clerestories and numerous ornate windows of colored glass: the building is topped with an octagonal cupola. In 1979, the Tabernacle was added to the National Register of Historic Places, and in 2000 became an official project of "Save America's Treasures
