Commonly referred to as wampum, our charms are made from quahog shells which are found in their natural state on the beaches of Martha's Vineyard. They have not been carved or shaped, they are naturally formed by the surf. The name wampum comes from the Native American word “wampumpeag,” a term for traditional shell beads used for adornment, as a form of currency, and for ceremonial purposes. We can also create a custom piece of jewelry using your own piece of seaglass or shell. Please call for information and pricing.
