Lobster traps, also called pots, easily catch more than one lobster. The pots are constructed of wire and wood, dropped to the sea floor in groups, and marked by a buoy for later pick-up. Lobster traps were invented in 1808 in Swampscott, MA but the design was refined in 1810 by Cape Cod fishermen. Traps usually have two chambers: the “Kitchen” which holds the bait, and the “Parlor” where the lobster is held and trapped from escaping.
Our Lobster Trap has a miniature lobster inside.
